How to Clean Your Bottle Bong in 2 Minutes
Share
Dirty bong water is nobody’s friend—and a resin-coated bottle isn’t just gross, it ruins flavor. Luckily, cleaning your DIY bottle bong is fast and painless.
Here’s how to do it in 2 minutes with stuff you already have at home.
🧼 What You’ll Need:
-
Coarse salt (like sea salt or Epsom salt)
-
Rubbing alcohol (70–91% isopropyl)
-
Warm water
-
Q-tip
🧽 Step-by-Step Cleaning Method
Step 1: Empty Your Bong
Dump the dirty water and rinse the bottle with warm water.
Step 2: Add Salt and Alcohol
Pour 2 tablespoons of salt into the bottle, followed by a few ounces of rubbing alcohol.
Step 3: Shake It
Cover the opening with your hand or a cap, and shake the bottle hard for 30–60 seconds. The salt scrubs the resin while the alcohol breaks it down.
Step 4: Clean the L-stem
Put your L-stem and bowl into a Ziplock bag with alcohol + salt, then shake. Rinse with hot water (use Q-tip for harder angles to reach for L-stem)
Step 5: Rinse and Dry
Rinse everything with clean water and let air dry.
✅ Bonus Tips
-
Clean every few sessions to avoid buildup
-
Never use boiling water on cold glass—thermal shock can crack it
-
Keep your L-stem fresh with regular alcohol wipes
